This block does not work. This run gives an incorrect reading. I had a fire department. came to buy and the gas company and they found no leak. I think it's better to be safe than sorry. The device has some advantages when working properly.

Liked: small modern profile. Supplied with mounting screws and tape. 🙁 After 1 day after using the mounting tape, it fell off. However, either screws or another solution are used. NO deal killer. Just for your information.

This device works well My only problem (and a big one) is that it won't stay on! It looks like the pins are too short for the wall and it keeps slipping out. I haven't seen this issue with any other device I connect.

I have this detector outside the engineering room on the lower level and everything seems fine. I tried starting it with a lighter and within 10 seconds it turned yellow and then red. The alarm sound could be louder, it is very quiet.

Well, hung it a few feet above the stove and turned it on - in less than a minute the level rose to over 5 and the sensor started alarming - not the loudest , but good enough size indeed small and so I don't think they can accommodate a louder speaker - it's not quite 85dB.

Insensitive - left the gas stove burner on for a full minute and this counter was only 3ft away. The kitchen is filled with smelly gas but it didn't register at all. Very disappointed. While this was registered when I held a lighter nearby, this is a poor test as open lighters don't pose much of a hazard, but a stove's slap handle does pose a hazard.

Requires no power supply and comes with a USB port. I recently filled up a propane tank. The guy who came from the gas company to open the gas line and light my fireplace was incredibly impressed and he makes a living. He took the parts and said he would like to take them to work. I just heard on the local news about a deadly house explosion caused by a propane leak! I'm so glad I have this.

Detector does a good job of detecting flammable gases (double checked). However, the alarm performance is nowhere near the advertised 85 dB. I measured it and the alarm on the detector was 78dB, with an ambient noise level of about 72dB. I can't believe UL listed this device with such a low alarm output. I would advise against buying this device if you expect it to wake you up or hear it in another room. This is particularly critical for SO.
