The Proto Drive Classic Ratchet J4749 left me thoroughly unimpressed .According to my experience, the build quality of this tool was subpar and lacked the durability expected of an industrial hand tool. While the price may be initially appealing it's not worth the frustration of repeatedly replacing a tool that should be reliable..

This is a solid product that does the job. My disappointments are two. First, the directional lever is ahead of any other ratchet I own. I always have to remember that this one is superfluous. For reference, at the 5 o'clock position it tightens the right hand threads and at the 7 o'clock position it unscrews the right hand threads. Secondly, there is no button to unlock the socket. I put a commonly used socket on the powerhead and had trouble removing it.
