Pyrex Leak Meal Storage 10 Piece Review

I was looking for a nice medium sized glass jar for individual food storage and this is the perfect size. Much better for repeated use in the microwave and dishwasher than plastic.

I commute to work by bike and train so they're filled with groceries and stuffed in my backpack. No leaks, thank goodness, and it's easy to reheat food in the microwave as you work. Pretty EXCELLENT!

Fill them halfway and they're airtight. If you fill them like any other food prep container, they won't close up and leak through anything, so use them with care. Apart from that, they are durable and easy to clean.

Twice used supposedly microwavable lids. Both times the lid was open for ventilation. After just two uses, the vent cover warped from the heat to the point where it could no longer be opened. Oh, and they don't sell replacement caps, not that you'd have to buy one after only using it twice...

I liked this product at first because I just press the vent and pop it in the microwave until... the lid melts as you can see in the photo. I've probably used it 2-3 times since I bought it. And that all happened just last week. The more you use it, the more "melting" it might become. In the end I was disappointed.

They were only tight if you swapped the lid and container to find out which combination of lid and container would be tight. One can had a small chip. Lids were difficult to open and close. It is not easy to tell if the lid is fully closed/sealed. Would have liked to keep them as I like the Pyrex brand but ended up returning them and buying something else. Rated 2 stars because they seemed sturdy and probably work fine if you don't need them airtight, but if advertised as airtight they should…

Great product but delivery problem. This product came with an extra box when not needed and hid the fragile wording on the product box. The product arrived broken and I cut my hand with glass. I doubt this would have happened if the fragile wording had been displayed rather than hidden. Also waste of resources when packing the box. However, I recommend just being careful when unpacking and hopefully Revain will update the packaging information for this product.

I am using a rhododendron seed germinating product. First, special soil is placed in the Pyrex dish, watered and the lid loosely fitted, then microwaved for 5 minutes in five one-minute warming sessions. This destroys fungus, pest eggs, mosquitoes and small flies and also prevents mold from forming on the seeds. Allow to cool and spread the rhododendron or rare seed over the soil and cover.
