Pleasantly surprised

I'm not a fan of neutral colors, but they pleasantly surprised me. The different binders used take some getting used to. As an an example. If you choose to use isopropyl alcohol with these paints, they will not react like paints mixed with gum arabic. The rest of the colors are great. And I like the jar it's in.

I love Kor! for colors

I love the wet-on-wet technique with these special watercolors! Aquazol makes the pigments just move across the page, making the process a thousand times more fun and unpredictable, which I absolutely love. Although they tend to be expensive, I would definitely recommend QOR watercolors to friends and fellow artists!

Status quo! - Painting

I LOVE gold items and their watercolors are no exception! They have brilliant color and flow. If you want to TRAVEL, get yourself a wonderful little travel kit. MUCH more convenient. I try to collect ALL the colors in my palette. I have about 3/4 of them! BRILLIANT! Professional quality. (comparable to my W&N*, which I also love.) *NOT "VINTON" which is her student grade.

Beautiful colors! Best in Painting

Shipping was a bit slow but I love these colors. They are very pigmented, suck out of the pans very well and blend well. They bleed quite a bit, and I think you can see that in my samples, so if that's a problem for you, maybe don't take them. Sap green is also too bright and vibrant compared to other colors which I don't really like. All in all a great set. I really love it and I use it a lot.

Earthy colors with a pleasant surprise

I was happy to find non-fading green juice in the set. However, Neapolitan yellow has a lightfastness grade of 3 due to its ingredients. I like the clear brown iron oxide - it granulates nicely. Natural raw umber is deep and thin. Overall the product is fine, a cool blue or purple would be more appropriate in this set than venetian red which is so opaque it's almost unusable as a watercolor.

The Best Watercolor Available

I have an insane amount of watercolor paint, from cool to professional. I've used every major professional brand and QoR is by far the best. With the smallest spot of paint you can paint over a large area, and it will be bright. Most of their colors consist of a single pigment and harmonize perfectly with each other. I find them significantly more pigmented than most popular professional brands. The tin also serves as a handy paint palette.

Pros
  • Arts, Crafts & Sewing
Cons
  • Big and Bulky

Paper is important - use good quality watercolor paper

Once I used them on the right paper they were perfect! I first used them on cheap watercolor paper and felt like I was struggling with color to get the results I wanted. This experience didn't match the reviews I'd seen on YouTube, so I gave them another shot at a better stamp and paper - and the difference was amazing. The problem was in the newspaper. I definitely recommend trying it out, be sure to use high quality watercolor paper for best results.
