Not actually 1/2” hose barb

The 3/8” barb is properly sized, but the 1/2” barb is to small. Very sloppy fit and hard to keep from leaking. That's my review!

Pros
  • Industrial & Scientific
Cons
  • The design of the reducer fitting may not be reliable in preventing water, air or fuel leakage at the connection points, leading to potential hazards

The fitting is smaller than it should be

If you are using this fitting for diesel return lines there will be an air leak that will make it hard to start and be impossible to find. Buy with caution these are not very high quality!

Pros
  • Contains no lead. NOT FOR POTABLE WATER
Cons
  • Limited Longevity: The Quickun Brass Hose Barb Reducer is not suitable for high pressure applications. It might not last as long as other metal fittings that can handle higher pressure

Poorly Made. Non-functional.

The 1/2" hose barb on the adapter I purchased is way to small. It was completely loose inside 1/2" ID tubing. Essentially useless.

Pros
  • Hydraulics, Pneumatics & Plumbing
Cons
  • In order to make a secure connection with the hose, additional clamping is often necessary, which further adds to the complexity and cost of the installation process

undersized 3/4 in for irrigation poly pipe

Good quality fitting. Used to reduce 3/4 in. poly sprinkler pipe to 3/8 in. tubing to build a pond aerator.3/4 in. side too loose. I made a sleeve of 3/4 in vinyl tubing over the fitting and heated the end of the pipe in near-boiling water to fit, then secured with a hose clamp. Fine for a low pressure application.

Pros
  • Brass for corrosion resistance, ductility at high temperatures, and low magnetic permeability
Cons
  • Rust and Corrosion
