So yes, it works. This will prevent your truck from going from v8 to v4. However. This thing will only eat up your battery if you leave your truck for a few days, which is just ridiculous. Seems to do what it promises. I've been using it for a month and no problems. I used to average 17mpg in my 2018 Silverado. Now I get 16.9 mpg compared to my last two tanks. In my opinion, this is a small price to pay for improved throttle response and fewer shifts into 4-cylinder mode. I am using this unit on my 09 GMC Sierra 1500 5.3 and have noticed a big difference in performance. I've had this truck for almost two and a half years now and it's much stronger and more responsive when I step on the gas. It used to fluctuate a bit and after about 1-1.5 seconds the revs jumped up and put a heavy load on the engine. I hated how my 2017 Chevy Silverado drove without this product. I put a non-original exhaust on my truck and every time it switched to 4 cylinder AFM mode the truck shook horribly.
