Works well but lacks factory lubrication.

I love this autopilot but after only using it for two seasons on my small sailboat it sounds like the grease has dried out and it's noisy I have to try the device despite the fact that guidance power to wait you believe.

Pros
  • Everything is fine!
Cons
  • Unusable features

Overall ok but some issues

This is a replacement for the ST 1000 I bought 20 years ago. It introduces the same calibration settings but not quite the control stability that the previous one had. I found some calibration settings that seem to work, but for some reason this autopilot wants to make sharp left turns and gets unstable from time to time. Still trying to figure out what the problem is.

Pros
  • High support and durability scores from testers
Cons
  • Bad points

Decent looking product although seems a bit empty

Received a new product last month. Today I wanted to install it and when I opened the original box I noticed a rattling noise. As soon as I take the part out, the slightest shake creates a rattle under the screen. It doesn't look like the screen is moving, although something else is quite large and not fixed in the device. I don't want to install it and find it doesn't work, nor open it up and break the factory seals to diagnose myself.

Pros
  • Dope πŸ”₯
Cons
  • Definitely bad product

Great device: autopilot

I have used it about 5 times on my sailboat. Installation was easy. The device is well made and easy to use. It seems to use minimal power. I particularly like the 10-degree control button. If the wind angle changes, I can just reach out and push a button to rebalance the boat. It's like having an experienced sailor at the helm as I walk to the bow deck, take pictures, fish, sightsee, or whatever. He makes all the necessary adjustments for me to levitate - hands off. worth your money. Update…

What course, captain?

Worth the price after saying I haven't used it for years I got the old model with my new 25ft sailboat and tried it out and loved how it took me out of the canal who has brought Marina Bay into the Marina Bay Sea, simply choose a course and use engine power to keep it straight while I prepare the sails and lines. This one died so I replaced it with a newer version that keeps course even better without losing bearing or beeping. I swam across a long lake without caring. This is much better than…

Pros
  • Great construction
Cons
  • Crumpled packaging
