Recommended good for me

Great quality ceramic fermentation crock. Very well made, heavy and durable. Perfect for making things like sauerkraut, kimchi, pickles, etc. It’s a little small, but that’s good for beginners.Packaged very well, and I like the color. This would make a great gift, especially for someone who loves fermented foods.

Pros
  • Like everything about this crock.
Cons
  • The glazed weights may chip or break with prolonged use

Perfect for Smaller Batches

This fermenter is everything that you need to make smaller batches of fermented veggies. It's heavy, well-made, has the right ventilation, has a hole large enough to make it easy to clean, and the weights are spot-on for this size jar. It's perfect for what it is.Tip: Pay attention to the size. I am mostly using mine for fermented peppers for sandwiches and salsas, but if you're looking to make large batches of kimchi or sauerkraut you may want to go bigger. You'll get about 2 store-bought 48oz

Pros
  • The water-sealed design ensures that the natural fermentation process takes place, producing beneficial probiotics that help support a healthy gut
Cons
  • It's not suitable for making certain types of fermented foods, such as yogurt or cheese

Beautiful crock but Interior is glazed.

My whole reason for wanting to use a fermentation crock vs glass jar is the micropores of the traditional onggi. I didn’t realize this was glazed on the interior. But I love the color, design and especially the water well at the top. It works similarly to air locks I’ve used for winemaking. The gas escapes through the water without letting air in.

Pros
  • 4.59 pounds
Cons
  • It may not fit in standard cabinet spaces due to its height
