RealityCapture is a general-purpose fully-featured photogrammetry software for creating virtual reality scenes, textured 3D meshes, orthographic projections and much more from images and/or laser scans completely automatically.
I like the fact that you can create your own models and edit them in the real world. The software is very user friendly and the instructions are easy to follow. I use this software to create my 3D models for my 3d printed sculptures. It allows me to have a realistic look and feel for my sculptures. I would like to see more tutorials on the software that are more in depth. If you want realistic models, this is the software for you. I am using the software to create my 3D models for my 3d printed
The best part of this application was its ease in importing data with other applications like Autodesk Revit Civil3d or ArchiCAD etc., it worked seamlessly without any issue whatsoever! It also had some useful tools to correct errors such as distortion that sometimes occurred when converting point cloud generated by ARCHICad into STL format which I used later within VRML files (for use through Unity). There were no issues encountered while working together so far but if you are not familiar…
I like that it can be used to capture multiple views of an object in order achieve 360 degree perspective which makes editing so easy! And then you have all your edits saved as well!! The price tag could definitely use some work but other than just being pricey there's nothing bad about this product at least not enough worth mentioning or dislikeing haha :).
We are using RC with our students during their field trip experience they get right into where we need them too by only taking pictures…
