Item received was not in "new " condition

Item was received in used condition: screen scratched, protective film missing. Check your device carefully to make sure it is not a return that you previously owned. Make a note of the unique device number on the image on the back of the sound level meter to ensure you have not received the same device.

Good features

That's three stars because it came with no paper certificate, just a sticker on the unit, and the description said "This product includes a calibration certificate traceable to NIST (National Institute of Standards and Technology)" as well as the calibration period from April 19, 2016 to April 19, 2017, so I just lost five months of the certificate without using it.

The Reed R8080 is a great tool.

04/13/2019. There was a serious issue with a neighbor that was disrupting all neighbors within 500 feet in a residential area. This tool provided useful metrics to persuade local city governments to take action and solve problems. Worth the cost. I've searched extensively for a reliable device that can record readings and of the two under $800 devices on the market this was the best. Very happy with the performance and ease of use.
