One size down if you want a crop like the picture. This top was excellent. I bought a floral and bright fuchsia for the cruise. It keeps everything in place and makes you look great. I bought the large one but I could get by with the medium one. I had to tie the straps very tight because they were a bit big. All in all my favorite swim tops!

I am 40D and I ordered XXL. The top fit well with some corrections: 1) I had to remove the cup inserts, they were too sharp, and insert others I had that were thinner, 2) I realized that it would be much more comfortable if each of the ends were on the neck the straps on either side of the back were tied in a knot like an ax on the back with straps instead of being tied around the neck because my neck hurt too much to hold the heavy ladies up - worked great!
