great for shops good for solar panels

at first I thought it wouldn't work but when there was more sun it really worked. I use it in my workshop and it really dissipates the heat. I ordered another one as I have a big store. Not really recommended for the home as it can actually suck conditioned air out of your house through gaps you didn't even notice.

Easy installation - solar panels

Installation was easy and seems to have kept the attic temperature down well. I think most people don't understand what they are getting. It's sunny so you need full sun and it's temperature activated. So you need to have both for it to work. I'm just trying to reduce the amount of hot air. while it works fine.

A few tips: solar and wind energy

The item arrived quickly and well packaged. No problem. The solar panel on the 20W models isn't adjustable, so be careful with placement. A full panel needs sun, if you partially cover it with your shade during installation it will slow down or stop, as will cloud cover. Check all your connections BEFORE securing and sealing them. It is not recommended to install in the middle of the day, hot, hot, hot. Otherwise everything went as it says in the instructions. Time will tell if this will help…

My attic now doesn't retain any heat at all!

I am VERY SATISFIED with my new solar fans. I installed 2 with the new Cool Roof and the difference is clear and will probably save me hundreds of dollars this year. Even with good insulation, my attic still radiates heat from the trapped air, and rotating fans and vents will do little to dissipate it. As a result, the air conditioning is operated more frequently and even at night. The fans are very quiet and powerful. Now I feel a constant draft when I reach into the attic during the day, and…

They all need it in life!

Very easy installation. except you have to hire someone to climb onto the roof while wearing this thing! He started working the moment he had a full view of the sun. The roofer was impressed. I've had issues with the lack of ventilation in my 100 year old house and high temperature and humidity due to said lack of ventilation. Although it doesn't necessarily feel like airing, both the temperature in my attic and the humidity have dropped significantly. There were long stretches last year when…

Pros
  • Everything is fine!
Cons
  • Some small things

The first was damaged, creased in the middle and has been replaced. The replacement wasn't damaged, but when I cut open the bottom of the box to lift the box, a ton of gear fell onto the garage floor, strewn everywhere. I spent at least an hour looking for all the hardware and looking at all the nuts and bolts, at least 90% of which were loose or barely held. The fan was also barely screwed on, I've never seen such a lack of effort in assembling a product with little or no quality control…

Requires really direct sunlight

My 50 year old house in Dallas, Texas has a flat attic with only gable vents for attic ventilation. When we moved in, there was passive attic ventilation on the roof, but when I noticed my wireless attic thermometer read 167 degrees in early summer, I knew I had to try something different. As a home inspector, I know that the best attic ventilation system is a combination of ceiling and ridge fans, but the cost (and experience) of installing them baffles me, and I knew I had to replace the old…

Pros
  • High marks for grip and durability from testers
