Works as it should and fast delivery

Works as it should. My impression is that this starter comes with two mounting screws. Maybe I looked at another post. This product was installed on a Mercruiser 4.3LX/ V6. The package arrived within two days. It was delivered in advance and I had enough time to install it the same day. A very happy buyer! The left picture is the new starter and the right is the old one. The new starter looks the same or bigger than the OEM. I definitely recommend this product. I read some of the negative…

UPDATE 3-2021 – No DOA here – perfect solution right out of the box

***Quick update for review below. As of March 2021, this still works without any problems. It was a great start and even the best price. To be honest I thought I was going to have some kind of problem now but it turned out to be reliable! *** After reading all the mixed reviews I wanted to add mine to the mix as it seems like there are good reviews out there. and bad ones coming from the manufacturer. Out of the box it was very clean, looked well made and the finish, fit etc was above average…

Recommended replacement

Delivery was on time! The product arrived earlier than expected. The starter is much smaller than the original OEM. Installation was easy. You'll need some spacers to compensate for the length of the bolt since the starter is actually smaller. The engine started immediately with no hesitation. Can't wait to get back on the water this weekend. I will let you know if there are any problems. Otherwise, an exchange is strongly recommended. 1992 Sunbird Corsair 185sl4.3 OMC Cobra v6 Original OEM…

Works perfectly! at Starters & Parts

I'm having trouble starting my boat. Sometimes when I turned the key I heard a click and nothing. I tried again and again and finally the starter worked. I thought I might have a few bad spots on the starter so I decided to replace it. Called our local ship dealer parts department and they wanted over $400 for a new starter motor which I assumed was an OEM model. I found this one for less than $100 and knew it might be a refurbished unit (although I didn't see where it was listed in the…

Different size but functional

I have a 1998 boat with a V8 5.0L Mercruiser I/O with carburetor. My existing starter has a bottom bracket with a staggered bolt pattern. This replacement starter is much smaller than the one I took out. However, the hole pattern matches and measurements from the bolt mounting flange and the front mating surface of the block show that the pinion and sprocket are in the correct position - as is the larger starter I took out. The only thing that doesn't match is the length of the bolt housings…
