Works great! good for me

I moved to IL from AZ during the winter and with the damp and cold, my horse developed a cough. The vet wanted to put him on daily Dex and I looked for an alternative treatment. I gave him a bucket of warm water with apple juice (to make sure he'd drink it) 3-4 times a day to keep him flushed and added honey in the morning, and while his symptoms improved, his cough lingered. I tried cough-free based on the reviews and within a couple of weeks his cough was gone. I continue to use it once a day

Pros
  • So much better than the powder. Easier to dose out and mixes in with the pelleted feed.
Cons
  • Doesn’t work. That’s really all there is to say.

Not palatable! in my review

My horse, who never has any problem eating anything added to her grain wouldn't even touch it, not to mention it looked like it had already been opened. Don't waste your money.

Pros
  • Made with natural ingredients, Farnam Cough Free is a safe option for horses that may have sensitivities to traditional medication and treatments
Cons
  • The supplement may not be suitable for horses who are already on multiple medications

Stops a cough good for me

This is the second time I’ve used this product and both times it stopped our horses cough on the spot! It’s now in pellet form which my horse seemed to enjoy. Thanks for such a great product!

Pros
  • Worked for summer dust coughMy horse ate it without a problem
Cons
  • My horse hates it, the smell really turned her off she would not eat it

As soon as I opened the container I knew my horse would not eat it. The smell was so strong and bad, it even stayed on my hands after washing them several times. I just can’t imagine any horse eating this.

Pros
  • Horses
Cons
  • Shipping costs may be prohibitive for some horse owners

It’s great just smells strong!

I use this for my gelding that gets a bad cough. He eats it but the first few times were definitely hard. It has a strong smell but my picky horse got over it. I prefer the powder but it seems almost everyone is out of that. With the powder you can mix it in water and syringe feed it. My horse still coughs but not like he does without this and he doesn’t have raspy deep breaths like he usually would.

Pros
  • My mares coughing decreased significantly
Cons
  • There is no safety seal for this product and apparently not eligible for return.

Damaged product on my review.

I received the product which was a breathing supplement for my horse and before I opened the package I smelled the product. Upon opening the package I found the container unsealed, lid off and supplement all through the package.Would like to try the product but, would like a new container, please.Thank you for your time, Millie Shawl

Pros
  • Works a lot better than the powder because you can make sure they eat it all.
Cons
  • My horse would not eat it.

Really disappointed with this product.

Has a potent smell to it. Honestly seemed to make 2 of my horses cough more than before. I used it for the 2 weeks and now will be looking for a different product.

Pros
  • Easy to use , cost effective and horse likes its
Cons
  • Strong oder, my horse does not like the taste. Don't know if it works, she won't eat it. 🤔

Resolved my horse's cough.

This solved my horse's cough issue. My neighbor used it & it didn't work because her horse had serious issues that only a vet could fix. This is a pellet form and my horse liked it.

Pros
  • Farnam Cough Free is a trusted name in equine health and is backed by years of research and development, giving you peace of mind that you are providing the best care for your horse
Cons
  • The supplement is not a substitute for regular veterinary care and treatment

Clears runny nose and cough

My mare changed barns and developed a nagging cough and runny nose, I consulted with my vet and he suggested I try a supplement (but did not recommend any brand). I chose this for the value and I've had good experiences with Farnam products in the past. Cleared my mare up in a few weeks, so I've kept her on it.

Pros
  • Vitamins & Supplements
Cons
  • It may interact with other medications or supplements that a horse is taking

Ongoing purchase. on my review.

I love this product for my 22 year old mare that cannot handle any dust. Revain had the best price so this is an ongoing purchase to make my mare more comfortable.

Pros
  • Health Supplies
Cons
  • The supplement may have an unpleasant taste, discouraging horses from consuming it

No! No! Don’t buy this

The flavor is horrible! I can’t stand to even smell it. My horse hates it and won’t eat it for nothing. Waste of money Great product.

Pros
  • Great product
Cons
  • It's expensive and doesn't fit within everyone's budget

The Herbs I was looking for

This products has some great ingredients/herbs for a horse with allergy/heaves. My horse prefers the pellets and though they smell strong of "ginger” she preferred it to the molasses flavored one I was using. Hope they keep selling this pelted one.

Pros
  • February 21, 2020
Cons
  • The supplement needs to be stored in a cool, dry place, which can be inconvenient for some horse owners
