The Great Rule - Linear Measure

I've always used a wooden ruler but this one seems pretty solid and accurate. The blades rotate 90 or 180 degrees and do not move without great effort. I love it for measuring duct offsets as well as metal marking work just destroying the tape measure blade.

Pros
  • Manufactured from 30% glass fiber reinforced polyamide; Lasts three times longer than wooden rulers
Cons
  • Older model

Easy to fold and unfold

I almost stopped buying after reading reviews that the hinges were too tight and the ruler difficult to fold and unfold. I didn't think that was right and I'm glad I decided to buy it. Haven't had it long enough to comment on durability but love the fact that it's fiberglass as I think fiberglass will probably last longer than wood. So far this seems to have been a good buy.

Pros
  • Durable and maintenance free
Cons
  • High price

I especially like the 90 degree mounts

I've only been using this Rhino ruler for a few days but I already love it. Like most electricians, I prefer to read the folding rules inside. You can put a ruler on the floor. The sections that are still bent won't lift the ruler off the ground because they're on top. This rule involves reading from the inside on both sides as well as reading from left to right on both sides. I have Lufkins old rule of reading inside, which reads from the left. on one side from right and on the other from…

Pros
  • Waterproof; Doesn't warp or swell like wooden rulers
Cons
  • Wrinkles
