Light works well but not for reading. If you're expecting a product that dims so you can read next to your sleeping spouse, then shop elsewhere. The two light intensity settings are essentially brilliant and bright. If bright light doesn't bother you, then this product may be for you. It probably works better as a work light when you need more light. I'm not saying it's a bad product, it just doesn't work as a reading light for my liking.
