Pretty good for electric fondue pots

I've used it a few times for chocolate and once for cheese. The chocolate worked great because I melted the chocolate in a double boiler and then poured it into a fondue pot to keep it warm. When I made cheese, I made fondue right in the pot, which wasn't a good idea. The heating element, like most, is either on or off. That means it gets very hot, then the thermostat turns off the element and cools it down a lot before turning it on again. This makes it impossible to maintain a simmer while…

very good for 1, maybe 2 people

My rating is divided: if you use this with 3 or 4 people, order a second pot. Works great for one or even two people. Here are the problems I've experienced when using it with 3 or 4 people: - there aren't enough forks (unless you have a LONG time to eat) - food falls off the forks, they should be more substantial - it can don't be more than 4 forks in one pot at a time, throw away the fork ring, it will aggravate the situation. But for one or two people: - can take four forks at a time from…

Easy fun fondue in kitchen and dining room

After a recent great fondue at La Grange Saint-Michel in Paris, we returned to New York City, determined to buy our vintage fondue pot from the late 1970's back in Operation. useless alcohol burner, uneven heating, oil swimming. Chaos. So we did some internet research and found this Rival pot and voila, perfection! Even gives a quick heat, nothing but pleasure. We use safflower oil. Plain plain fondue. Set the temperature and cook. Stable construction with a low base. Fully submersible, making…

Large fondue pot for optional equipment

Stainless steel pots are best suited for the high heat required for oil or broth fondue. This pan gets hot very quickly and is great for stock (I didn't make butter) but I thought it would be a bit big for cheese or chocolate fondue. After purchasing 2 7 inch oval soup bowls, I easily solved the problem and started using this pot much more efficiently. The 7" bowls fit comfortably in the center of the splash guard (6" diameter) making the pot a functional steamer. I usually boil the broth in a…

I looked at over 6 brands / 3 types / bought this.

Firstly, heating is the best, from warm to over 400+ not only heats up quickly, but above all safely! Look closely at the "additional pictures", look at the 3-step system, the element is welded to the bottom of the pot, the temperature guide slides inwards and the power cable is ripped off with the hook and magnet, the at two No pot has fallen or slipped off the table for fools who live with me. We started the family fondue on Friday and tried EVERYTHING. Bring the chocolate, Mex cheese and…
