My Vostro 3470 Updated

It came with the half height bracket needed to install the NVMe SSD in my Dell Vostro 3470. I had to install it in a 16 lane PCI slot but it worked exactly how I needed it to. Now the computer boots within 5-10 seconds and all my applications open very quickly. Exactly what I was hoping for.

Seems to work on the internals

I have two of these. They seem to work fine with NVMe drives, just plug the drive into the card, plug it in and then go into diskmgr and initialize the drive. Things get weird with SATA SSDs, though. I couldn't get it to work with them. One of the things I read about was enabling AHCI in the BIOS, but that didn't seem to work because it was already enabled. My motherboard has two M.2 slots, one has an NVMe drive and the other has a SATA drive, so AHCI is already enabled.

Easy installation, fast data transfer rate

I installed 1TB Samsung 970 EVO M.2 with this Rivo PCIe x4 adapter card on ASUS P9X79 3.2GHz motherboard with i7 3930K processor and it worked great (SYX -Machine approx. 2013). No additional cables are required, just install the card on the board and plug it into an empty PCIe slot. The card is PCIe x4, but you can use a PCIe x4, x8 or x16 slot. I used x16 because I didn't have x4. It's pretty easy. First, insert the gold-plated screw into the back of the adapter and secure with the…

Pros
  • Quality build
Cons
  • Long time

Purchased for use with 1TB SSD. The motherboard doesn't recognize it. The map shows a red light instead of green, which means something isn't working properly. Included are fun instructions that say "Feel free to contact us if you need any help!" Good. WHERE!? You didn't list anything. No website, no support site, no email, no phone number.

  • Glitter

  • Sad Hardware

I like that the circuit board is all black instead of .

It came without documentation but little is known about this adapter board. You insert an NVME drive and then plug it into the motherboard's PCI-E slot. In my case I only have 1 M.2. slot on my motherboard so I needed this to add my second NVME drive to my computer. I love that the circuit board is all black instead of the ugly green.

Quality card, easy to install and recognize the first time.

A high quality PCIe card that is easy to install and recognized by my system. The NVME drive (Samsung 970 Pro) I put on the card was recognized as a drive and the cloning with Samsung Magician worked right away. I was hoping to boot from it, but unfortunately it didn't work for my needs as a boot drive on my Dell Inspiron 3668 running Windows 10 Pro. I had some questions for the seller when trying to activate the map download and they responded very quickly, usually within a day, sending me…

Pros
  • Stylish and modern design
Cons
  • Slightly dented

Attention buyers, this card is not suitable for standard ATX boards.

Although the card works well, I had to bend the bracket a lot to get the card to sit properly in the fixed position. When the card is properly installed (fully pushed in), the bracket is approximately 1/8 inch shorter. If you secure the card with a screw, the card slips out of the motherboard on the right side and sits "crooked". Photos attached: the card is installed correctly, without a screw, and the bracket is clearly too short (first and fourth photo). ) How much I had to bend the mount to

Pros
  • Not only useful for its intended purpose
Cons
  • Requires an electrical outlet

For motherboards that don't have their own NVMe SSD slot

I have an older motherboard that doesn't have a native NVMe SSD slot and has 4 slots that do. For an older system (Legacy Win 7), this adapter card provided a way to add PCIe M.2 capabilities. Even if the Win 7 system only has one free PCIe 2.0 slot, it still offers a fast area for data access. For us it's a place to store virtual machines, which are inherently slower as everything is done in software, and this card compensates for that latency along with an NVMe M.2 2280 PCIe SSD. I use one in
