Square Square best for carpentry

Ideal for my simple woodworking. I believe it's square by testing it on Precision Steel 1-2-3 blocks. It has been coated with grease to prevent rusting. I would like it to be rustproof. I don't know much about metal but if inexpensive stainless steel existed they could use it instead of degreasing/re-greasing etc.

Pros
  • Sturdy construction
Cons
  • No power

How did I live without her?

Great little square. As other reviewers have said, it was packaged in a plain white box wrapped in an oil covered sachet. After wiping off the oil, I was ready to go. I used it to set up a recently purchased table saw. I wouldn't have made it without him. I also went through and tested all my regular squares and found that one of my favorites that I use all the time wasn't exactly square. Oh I like this so much I'll probably get the bigger 6" too.

Pros
  • Easy to use
Cons
  • Not sure

Square but not perfect

Square is perfectly square as far as I can tell after some measurements and tests. However, the long side of the square was inserted into the "base" at an angle, so it deviates a total of about 1/16 of an inch along the side of the square. I know this doesn't affect squareness, but it's still a disadvantage. At $12.50 I think it's a good price, but I've seen other squares that are a bit more expensive and might be perfect. In other words, I wouldn't buy a Robert Larson square again, but that's…

that thing is awesome!

This is perfect. I believe it's better than a quick square and the like. I used it to set up a table saw blade, a throat plate, a miter saw blade and both machines. It's smaller and fits in my tool bag, which is nice. This is much easier to use against my miter saw blade than my quick square. A very handy tool and I think the price is right. Actually I will buy a 6 inch in the near future. In combination with a scriber, they ensure a very precise cut. This is the aspiration of every carpenter.

Cons
  • Drill Kit

Square as far as I can tell

The square was coated with a light, easy-wipe lubricant, in a sealed plastic bag, in a plain white cardboard box that looked waxed or otherwise inside for protection from moisture. For testing, all I could do was place it on a laminated desktop and draw a line, then flip it over and draw another line about 1/16 inch from the first. The two lines were parallel to my eye. Then I tested it on other places. , some things are known, some things are missing, some things I believe, he agreed. It is…
