Description of Rolyan Splinting Material Aquaplast T OptiPerf

Aquaplast-T thermoplastic splinting material has moderate conformability and moderate resistance to stretch, making this material extremely versatile when fabricating a custom splint or orthosis. Sheet is beige, 19% OptiPerf perforation pattern, with measurements 3/32" x 18" x 24". Material has 100% memory, allowing for repeated modifications. Flexible and conforming material is ideal for serial splints, dynamic outrigger bases, elbow splints, hand, wrist, and finger splints; colors can help improve patient compliance. Material is coated, allowing for temporary bonds by pinching heated surfaces together or a permanent bond removing the coating.

Disappointing and Unreliable Plastics

Based on my experience with this industrial and scientific material, I found it to be ineffective and unreliable .The plastic that I received had multiple imperfections and did not adhere well resulting in a waste of precious time and resources. the only positive aspect was the decent customer service response to my complaints. However, I cannot recommend this product, especially given the cost and the embarrassment that it brought to my project..

Pros
  • Decent customer service response.
Cons
  • Ineffective and unreliable.

Aquaplast for Splinting: A Game Changer!

I recently purchased a splinting material for a project in my Industrial and Scientific class. After I put it to the test, I was blown away by its effectiveness... The material was easy to mold and customize and the OptiPerf feature allowed for proper ventilation. The end result was a comfortable and secure splint. The only downside was the price, but the quality outweighed the cost. Overall, I highly recommend this product for any splinting needs..

Pros
  • Highly perforated for excellent air flow and comfort during wear.
Cons
  • Difficult to shape and mold compared to other splinting materials.

Works like a splint used by an orthopedic surgeon.

Easy to work with, this material is just what we were looking for. I had surgery on a couple of fingers, and I had to "make" the cord to copy what the surgical assistant in the office was doing. (what he made didn't fit as well as I would have liked so I took it and made it myself) Great product!

Pros
  • Material has 100% memory, allowing for repeated changes
Cons
  • Ugly packaging
