It doesn't look like OEM although it works great!

JD 260 w/ Kawasaki Fc540v 17hp Model 1980s. For some time the tractor was difficult to start before it even started. After scouring the internet, I realized it had to be an igniter, a coil, or both. My ohm readings were high based on the link below. Found a local coil for $59 and the resistance was good and the spark was on the plug but not on the plug. This igniter provided the necessary additional spark. My tractor works great. new life. One note, the connector is smaller than what I had so I

Works with John Deere F525, Kawasaki engine.

Received today. There was quick delivery. Got it out of the box. Connected to my John Deere F525, powered on. Fiction. Advice for those who have F525. You'll have to disassemble the entire top motor to get to the single screw holding the old igniter in place. Do not worry. Just leave the old one and disconnect the cable from it. Installed it and the engine started the first time!

I had to change one of them 10-12 years ago. Spent over $80 on John Deere. Found and judging by the "reviews" it should work. For reference, my old JD part number was M73484. It has been superseded by JD part number AM132770 which is also a replacement for AM131398 and M70114. This is on a JD 240 garden tractor with a 14hp Kawasaki FC420V-ES00 engine.
