I had a set of copper shakers and I had stainless steel contents to distinguish. Honey contains cocoa powder and powdered sugar. It now has ground cinnamon in it. While the mesh lid comes off easily, I compensated by simply removing the lid in a clockwise twisting motion each time I opened it. I also use the same clockwise twist to put the cap back on! The mesh is very fine. You can't just use it for flour because the flour will clog the sieve. Choose Endurance's Universal Shaker when you're looking for a flour digger. This works great for powdered sugar and I assume it works for cinnamon powder as well. In fact, I can use it for a cinnamon powdered sugar mix, since anything that tastes good with powdered sugar will probably taste even better with cinnamon. This is a beautiful shaker and holds true does what it says on the tin... But like many other reviewers I found that after a little use the cap cannot be removed - it appears to be welded to the base..
