Latching clasp is not secure, pup will run loose

Purchased this item for the name brand, unfortunately it is not a great leash. The locking mechanism/clip is difficult to attach and not secure. Leash popped off collar when pup was playing with other dogs, happened twice already. The only plus is that it matches the harness in this line but overall would not recommend.

Flimsy leash and cumbersome locking mechanism

I was looking forward to this leash being updated and I ordered it from Ruffwear the first day it was available. I'm beginning to regret my haste. The two things I associate with Ruffwear products are quality materials and thoughtful design, but both are lacking in this updated leash.The new locking mechanism is cumbersome and not user friendly. It's still entirely possible to use the leash without the lock being engaged, which seems dangerous considering the March 2021 recall. And if I have…

Okay leash best in my review

My dog doesn’t chew leashes but this one doesn’t seem like it would be chew proof. It’s 3/4 inch wide which I don’t love. I prefer a 1 inch wide leash because it’s easier to hold. The neoprene handle would be better if it was a wider leash. It doesn’t really offer much help with it being a thinner material. It works well for my dog though. She’s a 65 lb pitbull who pulls and this has held up. I just wish they made a wider option.

NOT DURABLE AT ALL - my new review

The handle broke on the first use of this product. Not too impressed. Was a nice feeling material and very padded though.
