The medium sized vest was perfect for my 11 month old Jack Russell Terrier. He loves the vest and the Velcro is easy to put on and take off.

It's getting cold now and this jacket keeps my dog really warm. I have two small dogs, one 8lbs, the other 5lbs (both mixed Chihuahuas). This jacket fits both (I ordered size Small). The velcro is large and very secure.

My dog (a 16lb Jack Russell Terrier, size S) doesn't like hands on his jackets and sweaters so this was a really good design. The velcro, especially around the neck, wasn't sticky enough to use frequently as the soft side was just tactile. I had to find the remnants of velcro and sew on a real soft piece to make it stick better. Now it works like a charm. The velcro on the belly flap works well simply because there was a much larger area for the velcro to snag.
