Beautifully made - way better than the flimsy OEM

Bought to replace a plastic doorknob that my grandson broke ("Hey, that's not a handle - click!"). The metal construction feels comfortable and is very smooth-running. The latch also adheres well to the latch plate of the door frame. This is a quality upgrade if your RV/RV uses a plastic latch. Good stuff!

Pros
  • Absolutely amazing!
Cons
  • Weight

metal or not metal?

This latch is made of metal. There are no latches that attach to the outer door and door frame. Also, the mounting holes were almost an eighth of an inch apart, but I was able to work around that. The bolt on the outer door, which allows the two doors to work together, had to be installed in a slightly different place, as the shape of the handle differs slightly from the factory design.

Pros
  • Great for me
Cons
  • Not bad

Worked with some settings.

Worked well but not an exact match, use the original screws if you have them, new ones are larger, had to replace the door bracket from the original one, add some washers underneath to get the screen door handle. attach to the outside door. The original door frame bracket still worked. I used all the original holes. This is a solid body that is 100 times better than the plastic original. Only 4 stars because it didn't fit perfectly but worked after adjusting (Cherokee camper).

Tight fit when fitting older motorhomes

Bought this home after returning one of the plastic homes sold at Revain, it was too big. It took a little effort to fit my 1993 Bounder, but it works well and seems a solid device. Remember there are no instructions and you must position the door latch so that it holds the lever in an unlocked position on the frame latch when the door is closed or you will not be able to open the door when you close it. For my application I had to remove a piece of the screen door crossbar where the handle was

Pros
  • Great for a small home
Cons
  • Out of style

Not Plastic: Interior

After changing the screen door latch on my 5th Montana bike several times, I finally bought it as a replacement. I wish I had done that sooner. This is the perfect replacement for the 285 RPM latch. It comes with all mounting hardware although I have not used it as it fits perfectly. All of the previous holes matched and all I had to do was make sure the hardware matched that latch. When installing, ensure that the latch that holds the handle when the door is connected to the main door is set…

Pros
  • Confident
Cons
  • Ok
