Buy your own (reliable) cable; don't expect NVME speed

I needed a way to clone NVME drives from one PC to another PC. Both PCs have USB 3.1 (Gen 2) Type-C and Thunderbolt 3 (Type-C), I was only able to achieve a throughput of 200 MB/s with the included Type-C to Type-C cable . Luckily I had other Type-C to Type-C cables and was able to get up to 700MB/s throughput. A far cry from what my PC's ports (and NVME drives) can do, but much better than 200MB/s with the included cable. I gave the product 4 stars because I **WAR** was able to perform the…

Very good hard drive case

I've only used this drive for a few minutes so read other reviews for durability and performance. The case is VERY durable. It's probably a lot more complicated than it could be, but it gives a great feeling. The downer and reason for the disappointing three stars is the included USB cable. I sent the first disc back to Revain because it only worked if you PUSH the cable and were very careful not to hit it. The replacement was better but still not as reliable as other USB C devices. I tried a…

Sturdy case BUT major issue with the included USB-C cable

I have this tool free Sabrent USB 3.2 case along with an old Sabrent USB 3.1 model for two of my M.2 SSDs NVME Bought. This product features a rugged, indestructible case, tool-less concept, and lower heat absorption compared to my previous cases. My only gripe with this product is the included USB-C cable; It took me almost an hour to troubleshoot. Surprisingly, both of the included cables from each Sabrent chassis caused problems. I swapped them out and after a few tests everything worked. If

Pros
  • Stylish and modern design
Cons

Wanted. Really easy to use, easy to install. Everything seemed to fall into place. I didn't have to use screws or anything to attach the m2 ssd and it had a thermal pad. The only problem is that the USB Type-C inserted into the case can never maintain a proper connection. It appears to be weak, so it keeps disconnecting from the computer even though the blue light is on, indicating power and connection. This light is misleading as it's not actually connected unless you force it on and hold it…

Here he is - I killed a few of them but this guy survived.

Thermal design is a big issue with these things. I have run through 3 other units and this first one passed my test and not only passed but passed with no sign of thermal throttling. The test is to simply mount a 1TB drive and write 1TB to it. Cheaper devices would burn themselves and sometimes the drive if there was no thermal throttling in the drive. This passed with distinction. I've read other reviews about USB-C issues, so I checked that out as well. I have no problem with the USB-C…

USB-C falls out, making it almost impossible to use.

I like this adapter for the design, it's much better finished than other Revain m2 SSD adapters (although it still uses a JMicron chip). The metal case is heavy and heavy and dissipates heat well from the SSD. All of this, of course, spoils the fact that the USB-C socket on this adapter doesn't seem to accept cables well. The connector just falls out, I used a longer USB-C cable than the one that came with the adapter just to make sure the adapter doesn't move mechanically during use, but no…
