Buy Something Else Door & Stair Gates

You need to make the walls or surface really flush to do this securely enough. If you have wood products that rise a few inches above your ground, you can only secure the bottom of this fence. Not worth the money. It's a good idea and well built, but the fact that you can't use it where it's intended, except in very limited areas, kills it.

Poor Design on Doors and Stair Gates

Here's what I think of this gate. I won't even give it to anyone I know because I don't want to pass the frustration on to someone else. It just doesn't work. It's not broken, it's just not designed to work. Also, I've pinched the skin on my fingers with this thing about 50 times. Do not buy. It's not just a disgruntled customer, check my review history. I give great reviews for great products, honest reviews for honest products, and I don't usually give 1 star if they don't deserve it. It…

I bought this gate for my dog so I can leave the back door open and he doesn't leak. I put it on the porch so she could still enjoy being outside and I could enjoy the fresh air that rushed in. Basically I bought this gate because I like the way it looks and the hippie in me was sold out of bamboo and recycled plastic. The only thing I don't like are the grooves that need to be tightened or loosened. Sometimes one slot can be too narrow and you can't squeeze the lever to block it while the next

The locking mechanism is good for door and stair gates

I can't say enough bad things about the locking mechanism NOT working. It is almost impossible to put a metal latch on a wooden board. If you're actually pushing it down, it's even harder to pull it up. I have been using this type of gate for many years and have never had this problem. I spent over an hour with pliers trying to tear the piece of metal or bend it hoping it wouldn't separate from the wood. I spent another hour using a utility knife on a piece of wood trimming down the size of the

Beautiful and well built!

I really hate that I even have to use the gate but I have a 1 year old and he loves going to the kitchen which has food bowls for our dogs and other things I don't have. not like on the floor. I don't want him touching, let alone the stove and other appliances. So I'll start by saying that this goal is so beautiful, and that really drew me in. Usually children's goals are ugly bulky plastic things that just hurt the eye. These gates look modern and have a unique design. That's the first thing I

Fully featured frustration generator.

I like it - it works, it's safe and reliable. If I were a single parent this would get 5 stars. Although I'm not a single parent and my wife hates - HATES - this gate. She cursed our daughter more when trying to pick the lock on that gate than in any other context. There was a moment I thought she could throw it across the room, but the bolt caught on her sweater and she just fell with it in defeat. it was a barrier to her bathroom. I tried stepping over the gate (which I can because I'm a…

If portability and accessibility are your goals, get this.

I recently adopted a dog with separation anxiety and knew I needed something to keep him away from my home during work or my bedroom Keeping Office away while I sleep while still letting him see me. Baby gates seemed like a natural solution, but most of them are SO expensive and also require some kind of mounting bracket (the apartment doesn't do big holes in the wall). This worked well for my needs, although I still don't quite understand how to properly extend it - I just lean it against the…

BEST. GATES. JE. About Safety

First of all I have to say that over the years I have had many different baby gates between my three children, several of my puppies and adult dogs and my granddaughter. These bamboo goals are the simplest, strongest and best goals I've ever used - better than metal goals, better than door operated goals, better than plastic one handed goals. better than all. Why? Because it's lightweight yet durable. It's easy to set up and once you find the right size for your door, it pops up and down in…

Good practice for crossing obstacles, at least

I've been using it for about 6 months now and here's what I think: Good things: + It keeps the dog out of the litter box + It's pretty aesthetically pleasing wise on the children's gates.+ They are short enough that I can step over them instead of opening and locking them every time I have to enter the space they block+. They are thin enough that I can safely close the door. a door with a gate in the doorpost. *Bad thing*: - It really hurts to open this thing. The metal clasp is so tight on the
