I bought this gate for my dog so I can leave the back door open and he doesn't leak. I put it on the porch so she could still enjoy being outside and I could enjoy the fresh air that rushed in. Basically I bought this gate because I like the way it looks and the hippie in me was sold out of bamboo and recycled plastic. The only thing I don't like are the grooves that need to be tightened or loosened. Sometimes one slot can be too narrow and you can't squeeze the lever to block it while the next one is too weak and the gate won't even fit in the doorway. But as I said. I bought it mainly for the porch and it fits there nice and cozy.
