Very comfortable with great support!

I'm having trouble getting comfortable shoes and they are amazing. I have wide flat feet and was surprised at the comfort and fit. I will review Salomon boots for winter.

Pros
  • High marks for grip and durability from testers
Cons
  • Some issues

Pretty flimsy for the price

I have other more durable Salomon shoes that I like. They are much lighter and I expect the foam to turn to mush quickly. They are only slightly more durable than regular tennis shoes/sneakers. Suitable for home use and short shopping trips, but not for all-day walks or uneven surfaces. I could find similar shoes locally for half the price of this one. The best I can say is that they are "presentable" in public at the moment.

Pros
  • Absolute Legend
Cons
  • No instructions

Hard and uncomfortable

I really need a pair of good affordable hiking shoes that are waterproof. They seemed to fit the bill. But when I got them they were pretty flat with no inner cushion or arch support. The liner is easy to take out to replace with an orthopedic liner, but after that it fits pretty well. On top of that, they were just uncomfortable. Hard and not at all what I was looking for. I really want shoes that I feel comfortable in from the start and that wasn't the case.

Pros
  • Free for educational purposes
Cons
  • Available in white only

If you're between sizes you may need to size down or wear thicker socks

They're cute, have good arch support and are generally comfortable. However, with a medium-weight sock on my feet, my left heel seems to slip a bit. I bought shoes a half size larger than I used to because my current pair of Salomon was a little tight. Larger shoes fit better in length, but if they stretch at all I'm concerned that the heel will slide off too much. I'm trying to decide between these and a pair of Saucony shoes that fit me a little. Sizing aside, these are very comfortableโ€ฆ

Easy on and off with regular laces

I love my Salomons, I've had several pairs of Speedcross 3 GTX, X-Mission 3 and XR-Mission. The only problem was their Quicklace system with Mission-style shoes. They don't allow me to stretch the laces enough to slide easily even with thin socks. Thicker socks are not suitable. The Speedcross models seem to have longer laces, even with the Quicklace system, and that's not an issue. So I went for a Pathfinder with regular laces and now I don't have to go through the hassle of getting dressedโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Trial for one year
Cons
  • Small items

Comfortable well made shoe

These hiking shoes fit well and are very comfortable from the start. I have just returned a pair of Merrells due to fit issues (although I ordered my normal size). I wanted a pair that was a step below my larger, heavier hiking shoes and that I could wear for a variety of terrain from pavement to trail. The description said so, so I took a chance. I'm glad I did. When I wanted to buy a pair, I was also offered a used pair. Knowing that my brand new, recently returned boots are now consideredโ€ฆ

Better than Speedcross 3/4

Salomon is my choice for hiking as I have slightly narrow feet with a narrow heel. In the past I've bought Speedcross 3 and 4 whose outsoles didn't stand up to hiking the hot Phoenix boulders. Pathfinder was perfect from the start. Lightweight, breathable, durable, grippy, supportive and flexible enough. It offers good toe protection and overall cushioning. I particularly appreciate the soft tongue, which has no chafing points. The traditional lacing system makes it easy for me to adjust theโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Very good value for money
Cons
  • Vulgarity
