The holes on this replacement pad LOOKED right until I tried screwing it to the grinder and the holes were misaligned just enough to prevent screwing properly . Since my grinder is one of the ones listed in the description, you can only find out by trying it out. I had to return the block and buy a new grinder. Not recommended.

These are amazing replacement backing pads. The price is around $8, which is about half the price of the original. They are a great substitute. I replaced the original for my Makita grinder. I bought several as I had several large grinding projects. Just make sure your grinder has the same screw pattern.

Ordered two spare pads to have spares if the first one runs out. I have owned and replaced several of these grinders and changed pads several times. It is not suitable for BO5010. Aggravating. It looks like a cheap copy of the original, and it doesn't even look like it will last long if it fits. Generally very bad quality.

It doesn't appear to be made from the same high quality materials as Makita's OEM grinding wheel. As mentioned, the screw holes weren't big enough, although I solved this problem with minimal effort. My biggest concern is how it will hold up to normal use - I'm guessing it's not great. At least it was cheap. I think you get what you pay for. Next time I will buy a genuine OEM item.

On my Makita 5041, the plastic parts melted and fused within 5 minutes with the sanding head. This completely stalled the motor, preventing it from operating. I had to remove it using a utility knife and a flat head screwdriver to pry it off the sander head. What a terrible thing to sell! (Also, the countersunk screw holes did not match the washers and had to be modified prior to installation).

I've been using a Makita random orbital sander for a year and the original socket was torn. I thought I would need to buy new grinders, but stumbled across a link to this base while purchasing grinding wheels for the grinder. It fits perfectly, all the sanding discs fit perfectly, the edge of the new sanding pad doesn't interfere. and leave marks like my old one. It was quick and easy to install. Promotional text for this Makita hook and loop mat says it fits the Makita BO3050 ROS. It will be if you enlarge the holes for 3 screws. The three mounting holes (as opposed to the 8 air holes) on the Velcro side are too small. I didn't buy this block to bore it out. It probably wouldn't look good if I did that.
