I am using this reader with a Transcend 32GB CF card. No matter what computer I'm working on, I plug it in and all my files are available. When I first started using them, high capacity flash drives didn't exist. It is now. However, if the flash drive fails, buy another one. I just pop in another CF card and guarantee the old card, restore it from a backup and I'm back in business.

I recently bought a Nikon D70 DSLR and needed to transfer a lot of files to my computer. For example from 512 MB to 1 GB. I only shoot in RAW so they fill up. In any case, transferring 512MB from the camera (at USB1 speed) took quite a while, I think it took about 10 minutes or even longer to transfer 512MB.
