Highly recommended. He does what he says he will do.

I have been using this type of antenna for many years. The wire is necessarily thin which makes it a little brittle and my first one (which I bought from Radio Shack over 20 years ago) ended up getting tangled inside and broke. But I justified my money. I have now bought two more so I can keep one at home and one at our vacation spot. They work well and are nice to pack for travel/camping. Of course, you can just use cables of any length, but they're much easier to work with, and the included…

Can be attached or connected. Good winding. Average performance.

It may seem like a coil antenna can't be much different, but. This antenna comes with an adapter so you can connect it to a telescopic antenna or 1/8" plug, making it easy to use with FM or AM. Also, operational winding is quite easy, so if you wind/unwind frequently, it's easier than some other brands. It's about the same as other brands in terms of signal strength and noise figure. Of course.. the adapter isn't rocket science and it's another small thing to lose but that can make your It's…

It seems a practical thing to improve signal reception

I'm still experimenting with maximum reception. I installed it with a clip mechanism and attached it to a telescopic radio antenna. Place the device near a window as recommended in the user manual. Using mirror tape (double sided) I attached the wrapper to the top corner of the window. It's unobtrusive but gives me the height I want to improve reception. Of course you want to make sure your radio settings are optimal. This is achieved by trying and checking the reception strength meters. The…

Good simple portable antenna for FM/SW radio

Reasonable price. It's well made with a simple adapter to connect to the radio's whip antenna, as well as a small connector that works directly with the antenna port on many portable radios. Improves FM, AM and SW radio reception. It unfolds easily and stretches out in space, and simply rolls up to store when you're done listening. Most portable radios really don't work well on AM or SW broadcasts with just a conventional retractable whip antenna. The built-in whip antenna in portable radios…

Great little AM portable antenna

I bought the ANT-60 along with the XHDATA D-808 receiver. This antenna gives you 23 feet of wire that coils into a compact 3 inch diameter unit. The reel has a nylon strap attached with a clip. You can attach the antenna to an object and unwind the antenna. This antenna works indoors or outdoors. The antenna is equipped with a 3.5 mm mono jack. This is connected to the external antenna socket on your radio. If your radio does not have an external antenna connector, the ANT-60 includes a phone…

Handy coil of wire to improve shortwave reception

I was looking through the FAQ and saw the line "Does this work with this or that radio?". Assuming you already own the radio in question, you obviously don't know enough about it to ask such a question. You can do the same as this device by connecting a 23 foot cable to the alligator clip and attaching it to the whip antenna. That's it*. It *CAN* improve FM reception, but that's not its purpose. If your radio does not have shortwave, do not buy this device. This probably won't do anything for…

Good price for a small portable antenna.

I had a Grundig G6 Aviator portable shortwave radio for a few years. It was a good radio, but like most small portables, the built-in antenna didn't pick up stations very well. I had previously tried using a Sony coil antenna attached to the built-in antenna but found that it overloaded the radio significantly and didn't help reception at all. Using this antenna with a Grundig antenna connector improved my reception significantly and I happily listened to my little Grundig instead of my large…

Pros
  • Improves the performance and reception of your shortwave radio
Cons
  • Some little things

I received the Sangean Ant-60 shortwave antenna today and quickly tested it. First of all I have a Grundig S450 DLX shortwave receiver. I found nearby stations and compared the signal strength with and without the Sangean antenna. I put an antenna indoors and I'm sure it would be better if it was outside. In particular, the signal strength within a station increased from a signal strength of 2 on the dial without an antenna to a signal strength of 4 with an antenna. I found this to be…
