Perfect for three months

It worked like a charm for about three months and it was great! Then, as others have reported, it won't maintain a stable wireless network connection despite a VERY strong and reliable network signal (we use Google's WiFi mesh wireless network, which can be monitored with an iPhone app). As a result, you listen to your favorite channel, and then remain silent for 20-60 seconds while the radio searches for WiFi, and then return to the program for 2-3 minutes until you feel nauseous. An iPad…

UPDATE: The internet racio service is back!

UPDATE: As mentioned in my previous review, the aggregator service stopped working for a while (probably for several months), but it worked again! Very satisfied. I got a star for not being able to charge D-size NiMH batteries with this receiver, even though its battery type switch (alkaline <-> NiMH) is set to the NiMH batteries position. does not have BT capability and cannot charge D size rechargeable batteries inside), its functionality depends entirely on (or was used to) a station…

HOW it works reliably (and it works very, very well)

OK. I bought a used device that was returned by Amazon to test. I installed a whole house speaker system and wanted to use a separate single channel internet radio that was energy efficient, VERY reliable for 24/365 MOH (music on hold) operation for my wired phone system and was "always on". as background music for my entire home system. When I received it I wasn't impressed. Well it actually looked great and felt great due to the high quality plastic. but it keeps restarting and closing. It…

Close enough to perfection

I was late to the wonder of Internet radio. Living in a rural area, radio reception is pretty patchy and even my favorite Sangean PR-D5 can't always pick up everything. Incidentally, my mighty CCRadio CCRadio 2e is having trouble with some stations, notably a low-power FM affiliate that broadcasts our local AAA baseball games. What to do? Well, internet radio is the obvious choice, but the Echo Dot isn't exactly portable, and the tablet's tiny tin speakers aren't reliable enough. But a portable

Sangean is successful here.

Introduction: This is my fourth internet radio. We started with the Grace table radio, it's beautiful and sturdy, easy to use and versatile. Then I got the Mutant M-Wavio, fits in a shirt pocket but regularly leaks streams and networks. I recently bought an Onkyo Internet Receiver, large and handy with many input options. So with Sangean I had expectations. I am an old radio amateur. I used to carry a portable radio with me everywhere, but terrestrial (local) radio doesn't offer the same…
