I see this thing is getting hot. I would not recommend it for mobile use or where there is a risk of damaging the surface it is placed on. Second, the pigtail is too short. The ideal use case for this is a dual-display setup with a MacBook Pro on a Rain Design mStand, however, routing AF for the cables through a port on the back of the stand like this is impractical. 1 year + update: I am correcting my rating from 5 stars to 3 stars. After 1 year 2 months, the ability to connect the charger to the Satechi and charge the computer stopped working. The computer says it's charging, but the battery keeps discharging. I connect the charger directly to the computer and the battery starts to rise. I couldn't get enough of this adapter! This solved an issue I had at work where I just couldn't get the DisplayLink software to work with my "universal" dock and 2019 16" MBP no matter what.
