Great code reader and scan tools

I used this on a 2015 Ford F150 along with their free CD. This device has a switch. This device is connected to a port on my F150. When you try to connect with FORScan software for the first time, the switch must be in the correct position, otherwise you will get an error message. I hope this saves you a few hours of experimentation.

Do you want to write modules?

If you want to tune modules, many of the BT devices fail and fail. Unfortunately you need wired OBDII to program most things. For example, only some fields of my APIM are programmed via Bluetooth, but ALL programs use it. Flipping a switch is tedious, but there's no easy way around it. Using ForScan was flawless.

Works with Forscan!

This is a good product and works well with Forscan. Be sure to follow the instructions on how to update the driver, otherwise you will have problems connecting to Forscan. The product itself looks well built and quite rigid. At least it doesn't look cheap. I haven't used it with anything else, but I would recommend OBDMonster for use with Forscan.

Ad not completed!

I bought this unit hoping it would configure itself as nowhere in the description does it say to use a CD to add drivers. Another disadvantage is that you have to disable the firewall and antivirus. This is unacceptable. And what laptop has a CD drive these days. Therefore you will need an external CD reader to install the drivers for this to work. After all this was done, I successfully downloaded FORScan and this device didn't read anything. I highly recommend looking for a genuine OBD PLUG…

Works great with Forscan Extended

This OBD2 adapter is great value for money. It even supports advanced (paid) Forscan features. I was able to enable the remote start feature in my 2012 F150. I was also able to program my two new keys without having to pay 10x the retail price (two of my existing keys no longer work so I can't program myself using the procedure in the owner's manual). Took less than 4 months

Bought almost 4 months ago and it has stopped working properly, I've used it maybe 5 times and the USB end of the cable won't connect properly without it in the right position (not the cable, but the USB connector itself). Any slight movement or vibration will cause it to stop working, so the scanner cannot be operated for more than 30 seconds. I've never used it with a bent or kinked cable and it still broke.
