Not for masking with watercolor paints

If you are looking for masking tape for watercolor painting then you have come to the right place. It won't damage the paper, but it won't cover the color either. I tested it on a watercolor board. As you can see the paint has flowed under the tape.

Pros
  • Regular price
Cons
  • Vulgarity

Good quality suitable for sticking

-Good adhesion I've tried acrylics and watercolors -When used on watercolor paper the paper hasn't torn when peeled off -Don't make the beginner's mistake of trying it on the Painting with watercolors - it tends to bleed the paint rather than blocking it completely. This led to an interesting result: the lines were, but definitely not, sharp. You won't want to use this band to get a specific line with this one. Well suited for acrylic paints on watercolor paper.

Pros
  • Pretty packaging
Cons
  • Only available in black

Very poor adhesion in the craft and handicraft tape

The product description states that it is not very sticky, which is necessary in order not to damage the paper. However, you want the tape to stick to the paper. The tape attached to the corners of the paper to attach it to the board came off after a few days. Tape applied around the edge of the image to define the edges of the image allowed for water color to seep under the edge of the tape within minutes of application. I have experimented with Green Frog Tape under the same conditions and…

Learn from my mistakes

Very low tack and does what it's supposed to do ie WILL NOT ruin your artwork or stick to your drawing or watercolor paper. However, it doesn't hold watercolor paper very well and keeps it from warping, especially if you're using a thermal tool. This works for holding masking paper or stencils in place even with wet media like ink sprays, but again, you'll lose this with a heating tool or if you're using a non-tack craft sheet. There's not much of it, so use it sparingly. However, I found it…

Pros
  • Perfect for paper, metal and plastic

  • Long delivery time

Low tack as advertised but too low for stretching watercolor paper

I bought this for stretching watercolor paper and fixing fine art paper. It's low tack so I had to use more to keep the sketch paper in place. Not the best tape for stretching watercolor paper. It was difficult to dry the edges of the paper enough for the tape to adhere. Works well enough, but I'll try a better quality artist tape next time. It leaves a small sticky mark on stretched watercolor paper, but that's better (since it can be covered with a matte cardstock) than tape tearing the…

Pros
  • Acid free, photo safe, no wrinkles
Cons
  • Could have chosen a newer model

This is one of those products that is probably worth trying. I bought it as a supplement for less than $4. It's perfect for what I wanted, but mainly I wanted to use it for masking and holding light paper on the lightbox. - It is not as sticky as masking tape or masking tape. - It is thicker and stiffer than most tapes. I can lay it down and use it as a hard edge to draw very straight lines. I've applied it to ink drawings and dried watercolors and it hasn't damaged the paper, ink or paint. The

Pros
  • Precision application, no tension
