I use two types of packing tape to pack boxes: light packing tape and heavy packing tape. This is a thicker version of the tape. I mainly use this tape to reinforce the box's seams, the seams that need strength to keep the box from falling apart during shipping. I use it in combination with the lighter and brown 6 pack Scotch Lightweight Shipping Tape for secondary reinforcement of less important seams. Doesn't stick securely. Used for boxes when moving. Most of it came out of the boxes unless applied VERY, VERY firmly and with a lot of friction. And even after being exposed to the slightest bit of moisture on a cool, damp day in the garage - falling out of boxes where they won't be pressed to the floor or onto other boxes or tanks.
