Scotchgard Oxy Carpet and Fabric Spot Stain Remover Review

We used this to remove a large stain on our friend's Honda Civic floor carpet. Someone dumped a container of strawberry ice cream on the carpet and left it there for several years. It was a disaster. I sprayed the large stain a couple of times, thoroughly covering the area of the stain and letting it sit for a few minutes. Using a kitchen sponge, I scrubbed the carpet surface for several minutes with each use. Does not require rinsing. 10 minutes after birth, this unpleasant spot disappeared.

I bought a very nice used sofa that I wanted to clean thoroughly before letting anyone sit on it. That helped. I sprayed the entire sofa thoroughly and then dried it well with an old towel. One smell of this stuff and you know it's basically chlorine bleach. It clearly works by bleaching your blemishes. The problem is that it can also stain your sofa. According to the instructions, I tested it on a small area and everything looked fine. I then used it on a larger area and ended up staining smaller and larger colors, a problem that doesn't show up until it's dry. There are even white spots. And I still have pimples. The only negative reviews I read were of people complaining about leaving a circular 'stain' on their fabrics. What manufacturers don't tell you is that after saturating the stain for 5 minutes. Then pick up the residue and press it into the fabric. Then you need to apply a damp clean cloth to the fabric and press the stain for a few minutes at a time so that the stain does not come out of the fabric. I bought this to get a stain out of my car seat. This removed the stain well but when it dried there was a ring around the stain. So to remove the ring I had to clean the entire seat which resulted in a large loss of product. I then cleaned the patio seat cushions and that did not remove the stains and again left a ring around the area I cleaned. Haven't used it on carpet yet but so far it's been a disappointment. I have been using this product for many years and it has always been amazing. Attacked immediately on the spot and processed everything. The only thing I didn't like was the smell but it was worth it because the product was really good. Couldn't find it in stores anymore and found it at Revain. The packaging was updated but when comparing the labels it was the same product so I ordered it. I used it for the first time today and it did absolutely nothing.
