Excellent product. I used to use it for carving/modeling. I even bought it new. Surprisingly, although there was some wear on the corners, it was otherwise in excellent condition.

I made 3D shapes to teach technical drawing. It was easy to carve with a simple wood saw. Be careful though, the foam sheds a lot of powder so I colored them after the cut to make them easier and cleaner to work with.

A lot of foam dust, similar to concentrated sawdust. Works as advertised, but I thought it was "rubber" rather than "styrofoam". Might work for some projects but not for me.

I'll start with the only negative aspect of this foam: be prepared for a mess. Fine particles are everywhere and you'll probably want to wear a mask or respirator. However, it is the best carving material in the world! It's soft and dense, very similar to balsa or basswood but without the texture. In contrast to other foams, it does not form any annoying lumps or balls when shaped. I would love to buy a huge sheet of this, I would use it in all my projects.

Did exactly what I wanted. It is soft enough to be cut with blunt tools used for working with clay. This makes it easy to use and the minimal effort makes it less dangerous than wood carving. It's not soft enough to warp or crumble during processing, although I've been careful with it (you can poke your fingernail in if you press on it.
