Extremely strong stuff. Don't add too much to yours.

Extremely strong material. Don't add too much to your aquarium! Follow the instructions for gradual changes over several days to keep your fish healthy. This acidic buffer lowers the pH of your water. Please remember that PH is logarithmic, which means that PH 7 is 10 times more acidic than PH 8 and 100 times more acidic than pH 9.

Instant Results: Fish and Aquatic Animals

This material is amazing! I use their other products and decided to start making betta water instead of going to a specialty pet store. Knowing my fishing waters were safe made me feel good, but I figured it was time to save some money and make my own. They told me what I needed. My tap water has a pH of 8.6 and I need 7.6 or less. So I bought this and added about 1/16th to my 5 gallons of water that I was purifying. This worked immediately and brought it down to 7.4. I couldn't be happier!

    Works but use with care

Product does what it is supposed to do. Lower and/or remove KH. I keep a high end shrimp tank so low carb is important. Pay attention to the warning. Don't drop the bits on your plants. It will burn them. Dissolve the salt completely in a glass jar, not a plastic one, as it will react somewhat. My plastic cup was clear and has since turned cloudy white even after washing with soap. I can't assign the product stars as it technically works, but I'd like to know some of these things beforehand.

    Works perfectly! for aquarium interventions

Simply ingenious. My water comes out with 0 dKH and 8.2 PH and I inject CO2. With water this soft, my PH is likely to be very unstable and will plummet once my CO2 kicks in. I use this in combination with an alkaline buffer with every water change to lower my PH to 7-7.2 and raise my KH to 6-8. I recommend them to other products because they are not phosphate based. This is especially important if you have a planted aquarium with lots of light, otherwise you will cause algal blooms veryโ€ฆ
