I only have 16 cardinals, half a dozen Julias and a few snails. First of all, all three are healthy types. The water we get in this area is not very rich in minerals so it seemed necessary. I have used this material for fishing and the fish seem happy. Like human vitamins, it might not make much of a difference, but it's better than nothing. I just use it more for peace of mind. Can't say I've noticed a difference in my fish. I feed them New Life Spectrum so they already have a very good color so if their colors are boosted by water additives I haven't noticed. I don't use RO water, I use regular purified tap water so the need is less than if I were using reverse osmosis water. But it seems like a good product.
