I bought this for my son's 20 gallon tank to replace other stuff in his filter. Overall it works great, with a few caveats. First you need to rinse Purigen well to get rid of the cloudiness. If you've ever washed rice, the concept is the same and it basically takes forever to get to the point where you declare it's good enough. Honestly I'm impressed with how well this stuff works. I put a large piece of mopani wood in my little 10 gallon tank and of course it turned the water into tea. Water changes didn't help much. Throw a bag in the filter and leave it on overnight and the next morning the water will be absolutely crystal clear. Highly recommended if you have problems with tannin in your aquarium! Purigen was amazingly good at getting rid of excess tannin from driftwood in my 29 gallon fresh water tank and made the water crystal clear in a day or two.
