I bought these for a DIY project. to add an extra mount to my camera tripod. I wrapped them in heat shrink tubing to keep them from scratching the tripod. Stainless steel is good, but not as strong as other steel alloys. they bend with little effort. The description assumes the holes will fit #6 screws, but they must be self-tapping screws. I had to drill them out a bit to fit the #6 mounting screws in the holes.
