Type of review

Without going into detailed tests, WIN10 gave this drive a 5.9. I expected more from a hybrid. While working on a beech (Lenovo Z510, i5, 16 Gb RAM), periodically you can hear how the disk "wakes up" and spins up, which gives 1-2 seconds of freezing. Perhaps this is due to the large amount of RAM. I'm not an expert in HDD evaluation, decide for yourself.

There are pros and cons, think before buying.

Like norms. Sad only that he got into marriage. ! During the warranty period, the manufacturer buried the line of discs and no longer sells. Apparently he considered the model unsuccessful, so it is not recommended to buy. Pros: A hybrid disc, nimble enough for a spin disc. Seagate is not the most shameful vendor. Got cons: Bought a couple. One failed immediately after launch. Took it to the warranty, we'll see.

I am amazed at how well the product is made, just magically!

After 6 years, hdst died, I decided to look for a replacement, took this model? it worked well, the system started to load noticeably faster, but unfortunately, after 15 days the laptop started to turn off, then recording errors started, it didn’t p the long test in the proprietary seatools program, there was no desire to heads with the store (at least 10 days of examination and not a fact, that something good will come out, because this store really does not like returns) at the office. The…

Pros
  • quiet cold quick excellent warranty service
Cons
  • 1st died after 20 days of work

OS loading speed is not inferior to a conventional SSD. Other than that I wasn't impressed, I was expecting more. Perhaps it was easier to buy an SSD instead, but I wanted more memory. Perhaps I will rearrange it in a game console, according to reviews it is quite suitable. Got pros: The amount of memory combined with a large buffer and 8GB SSD memory. Some cons: I don’t know what is the reason, but it is very slow, with prolonged operation, the speed drops to almost a complete stop, when…

Second-rate product, won't buy it again.

I stood in the Rogue Strix Scar laptop, it started freezing tightly with the disappearance of the disk (in the Windows manager it stopped seeing the disk, well the system is on the Samsung SSD)! The freezes were eliminated by physically disconnecting the disk from the unfortunate brand, it’s good that the laptop has access without parsing the latter! Scanned by Victoria - the result of clusters falling down + capitally unreadable sectors (according to the test - reading error, unreadable) right

Pros
  • they are not, a very bad product, from the same brand, i. E. None!
Cons
  • after 1.5 years, he died in an Asus laptop for 150 thousand, as they say, what brands are and quality, what is Asus, what is Seagate

A practical product, nothing to complain about.

I use the e725 only for remote access and as a cloud - the laptop lives its life without a top cover at all. There were 2 HDD Toshiba 320 and 160. 320 fell down completely, 160 space is not enough, I decided to buy a new screw. I overpaid 700 for the price just for the sake of a guarantee. On an SSD in the amount of 8 GB, I didn’t really get carried away. Looks like the warranty will come in handy. Perhaps the speed characteristics of this SSHD rested on the old SATA controller of my laptop…

Pros
  • Warranty 5 years Volume Seems like the promised 8 GB SSD cache Pretty quiet if one is installed.
Cons
  • He is very hot! I put it in a beech (eMachines e725) and the temperature after cloning the system is 55 degrees! 55 CARL! Due to the ugly design of the beech, the CPU cooling passes directly over the HDD, I thought maybe the percentages and heats up . Rearranged the temperature in the ODD-caddy after a night of inactivity of 47 degrees! On Toshiba from this caddy in idle time it did not rise above 35! The speed during the HDTune test is just not very high, but oh well. All the same, most of the space will be used for file storage. The boot speed of the system compared to the previous fallen Toshiba has not increased. Price compared to peers without SSD cache.

Terrible quality, disappointed with the purchase.

It was in the laptop at the time of purchase, it did not lend itself to replacement due to the trace of the guarantee. Died overnight after a year of operation, burying almost a terabyte of valuable information. There would be music or games, and figs with them - you can download, and here are the captured sources for video editing, not yet transferred to the backup storage. In general, I no longer deal with the Seagate, although in the desktop system their older disks show themselves much more

Pros
  • Nothing good
Cons
  • Speed, reliability, noise

I am amazed at how well made the product is, just magical!

I read the comments for this shdd, my last hair almost fell out. So many bad things written. And most importantly, people believe that they are very well versed in computer technology. 1. Someone died after 0.2-1 year. To be honest, nonsense, not proper operation. Do you turn off your laptop at all? Or are you a laptop on the sofa and yourself there too? Naturally, everything will heat up, overheat and die. I had such a disk in my laptop, I bought an ssd to replace it. Sold to his friend, with…

Pros
  • Work, silence, speed.
Cons
  • I have not.

Poor quality item, not what it needs.

Perhaps the packaging is to blame - both branded (soft antistatic bag) and the office that sold this disc to me. amazon. Ru put the hard drive in one box with a set of screwdrivers side by side without any cushioning, just a sheet of kraft paper. Pressed down. It was bought to replace the ST1000LM014, in an old laptop, a "live" WinXP with specific software was transferred to it. Bad luck.

Pros
  • At first glance - a normal, albeit noisy, and with an overly aggressive power-saving program hard drive. But.
Cons
  • Died after 5 days of use. Judging by the symptoms, he dropped his heads on the surface. Before that, I often restarted the spindle, but there was nothing particularly suspicious in SMART except for counters, but after the accident, the disk completely lost readability, there were so many bads that it was impossible to pull out at least something. But no G-shocks.

Ive never seen anything worse! A terrible purchase.

Very upset that I bought it and did not read the reviews. fell for a hybrid ssd + hdd. people in the comments write that he died in five days, I sit and hope that he will also die. because 2 weeks have passed since the purchase and I can not return it to the store do not take this miracle. stands in the system unit, crunches like hell below. I can’t imagine what would happen if they put it in a laptop.

Pros
  • ordinary winchester. no merit. the price was the lowest at the time of purchase.
Cons
  • noisy. crunches very loudly. it is written that the hybrid and the maximum speed of 600+. specific lies. the speed is the same as the old one

Failed after 3 years of use PS4

The capacity of this hard drive was a big improvement over my PS4's stock hard drive. Unfortunately he passed away a few days ago and I lost everything. Three years ago he decided to give up his ghost. The drive is still under warranty, which I would like to claim, but I'm honestly wondering what will I do if Seagate replaces my broken drive with another unreliable, slow drive of the exact same model? I'd like a loan to upgrade to an SSD because I really don't want another crappy HDD dying…

Pros
  • Durable finish
Cons
  • Expensive insurance

Made an Old AMD Desktop Super Fast!

Bought this for my mom when the hard drive died on her old AMD based HP all-in-one desktop PC. After this PC was upgraded to Windows 10, it became slow, clunky, and kept freezing (this was a long time before the original hard drive failed). But when the original hard drive failed I replaced it with this Firecuda and the results were AWESOME! I would say the results were comparable to a CPU upgrade or doubling the RAM. It didn't make the old computer as fast as if I had an SSD installed, but I…

Unreliable Hard Drive (WOODEN PRODUCT)

Bought August 2017, now it doesn't work. A year later he stopped working. Based on Seagate's brand value, I have entrusted them with my important data. I work for one of the Fortune 500 companies and consulted with our IT hardware department. The first thing the IT department said, never buy from Seagate, unreliable, not very friendly service and customer service. According to their investigation, they don't hear the title sound and after connecting to the document, nothing appears on the…

Pros
  • Don't waste too much time
Cons
  • Requires an outlet

Questionable long-term reliability on PS4

There's no arguing the value of this drive (better performance than HDD and slightly higher price at an acceptable performance tradeoff compared to SSD). I bought the 1TB version to upgrade a standard PS4 hard drive and it worked fine for 3 years until it suddenly crashed when I started Bloodborne. I updated the operating system, formatted the drive and tried reinstalling the new operating system, but the problems only got worse. The PS4's built-in database recovery feature also got stuck at…

  • Quality construction

  • too stupid

Shockingly bad performance, benchmarks so bad compared to a bad SSD

A solid gaming system was built for me, but the weak point was the PNY SSD, which is 512 GB was and was one of the worst SSDs in its class and performance. It was SATA III and I used professional testing software to compare my drive's performance to over 100 other drives, ranging from SSDs to hybrid drives to traditional drives. Ideally, I wanted to upgrade to a 1TB drive and replace my inexpensive SSD, which was the weakest benchmark on my system, with something that would give me extra space…

Pros
  • Affordability
Cons
  • Actually, I don't like it, everything is fine

The hard drive only lasted a year

I've waited a long time to write a review, I know. But do I like it? I bought this hard drive in December 2017 to replace another one when I dropped my laptop and the original hard drive broke. Flu and muscle cramps are good, especially when carrying a laptop! My cousin who was helping me with the swap suggested I buy a hybrid hard drive and I did some research and figured that would be best for me. The price for 1 TB of storage was unbeatable. Although I never completed it, I was close to…
