Too slow for use: data storage

This product is unacceptably slow. I bought it to back up my laptop's SSD which holds around 600GB of data. The first 100GB I pulled onto the Seagate drive gave me an estimated time of "about a day" to finish. I looked up the write speed characteristics on the box that came with the device and in the booklet because I couldn't believe the drive could actually be that slow. Easy to use! Works with MAC OS Mojave (10.14.6)

For Mac computers and Use Seagate as an external backup drive with Time Machine. (1) Be sure to open the "Mac" installer link after connecting the driver. (2) The web link takes you to the product registration website (do it) and also offers you many other trial products - ignore them and then close the webpage. Good read speed, but slightly bad write speed.

This test is for the One Touch 5TB External Hard Drive. I originally bought this thinking it was an upgraded version of a Backup Plus drive that I thought was unavailable. Given the 7200rpm I also found it a nice upgrade to look for speed. Unfortunately, this drive does not work for my or anyone else's needs. Read speeds were better than the Backup Plus as I averaged around 250-270Mbps with the One Touch which was nice to see but write speeds averaged around 50-60Mbps. I couldn't get him to…
