🕒 Authentic Seiko Curved Rubber Strap Review

I saw the listing and thought it was a great price for an original Seiko strap. This is not a genuine Seiko strap. The plastic strap is so stiff that it doesn't wrap properly around my wrist. This detaches the dial from the edge of my wrist. I return it and spend an extra $20 to buy a genuine Seiko strap directly from the Seiko store. I'm not cheap enough to live with the inconvenience of this strap to save $20.

This is a replacement strap for my Seiko Ashtray. Eventually I decided to put it back on and found that the old strap had to go. Checked the usual watch band forums and the Revain was the same price but next day shipping. The fact that it comes with an extra set of spring bars was a nice bonus. If you're looking to replace your strap with a factory Seiko strap, you can't go wrong.

I took a close look at this strap and it turned out to be a genuine Seiko strap. The group was in a plastic box marked SEIKO, 4FY8JZ, BAND CHINA. I know that Japan now makes products in China, so I don't think it's a problem that the tape is made in China and not Japan. Also, there are "thick pins" in the package, which are larger in diameter to fit the band snugly, but you can use your original pins if you prefer. The strap is a bit stiff but I know it will soften after wearing. I'm not sure…

The only positive was that it was actually an original Seiko strap. I bought this to try on my SRP637, I needed a more waterproof strap than NATO and something that could use Seiko's thick spring bars. I love that it's beveled to fit the 22mm last width. I think the wider lug band that tapers towards the bottom complements such a large watch. However, as others have noted, this rubber is too stiff to be comfortable. I will keep looking for the best rubber/silicone strap.

I had to replace the original watch strap with a metal one because the original black rubber strap was worn out. I wanted to restore it to its original appearance but have never been able to find an exact replacement for the bracelet it came with at local jewelry stores. I was able to get the original tape from Revain and am so glad I did. This is a "TOP OF THE LINE" product.

My metal strap has snapped. Luckily I didn't lose my kinetic dive watch. This strap is a replacement for an unfinished metal strap. I wasn't paying attention and ordered a band that was too wide. The razor blade solved the problem. While I prefer the look of the metal strap, it feels unbreakable. Very satisfied!

I had to cut off the end of the ribbon a bit to get the springs to snap. It took me almost an hour to figure out what the problem was - I thought I'd lost the ability to compress the springs, but the flexing of the watch itself was interfering with the ends of the bracelet. The cut is now visible on the bracelet next to the watch. Not my favorite way to spend a Tuesday night.

Well I ordered this strap for my Seiko Diver and it may or may not be a 'genuine' factory replacement but I am very happy with it. I waited about a year to test as I wanted to see how the durability was before thinking about it. My original factory strap lasted about 3 years which I think suits any rubber strap. Installation went smoothly and I am happy with my purchase. For around $20, this is a fair deal. I've seen genuine Seiko bracelets in jewelry stores for $40 which is outrageous.
