Great open back headphones

A few years ago I discovered open back headphones. I bought them because I need to be able to hear what's going on in the room I'm in and at the same time have excellent sound quality. The upside is that closed-back headphones make it seem like the sound source is inside your head, while open-back headphones make it sound like you're in the same environment as the noise. It's not really better or worse, just personal preference. Anyway I like it. My previous 2 pairs of open backs are gradosโ€ฆ

I loved them and then they broke.

I bought these headphones in April this year and immediately fell in love with them. They're comfortable and not too big and chunky like many over-ear headphones on the market. The sound quality is fantastic and they look very stylish. Like I said, I really like these headphones. And then just today, after 6 months of regular use, the plastic on the side ripped. And as soon as it cracked a little, the plastic part completely detached, exposing the wire. Let me say up front that I don't openโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Very good value for money
Cons
  • I have no complaints about it, everything is fine

These headphones are the most comfortable headphones I've ever owned. I've mostly had gaming headphones like the Razer Kraken 2019 Tournament Edition or the Logitech Pro headphones and both pale in comparison for comfort. In terms of audio quality, they're very good for listening to music, but you'll need to turn on the sound enhancements for gaming unless you buy an audio amplifier (I bought a Sound Blaster Play! 3 External USB Sound Adapter for $20). , and then I can get sound quality that'sโ€ฆ

Super convenient, TERRIBLE cable.

*Update* It's been a while since I put another star. I've had terrible luck with other headphones, having tried friends' headphones over the years (and more expensive than these). Just buy it. If your budget is $100, you won't be disappointed (assuming noise isolation or noise cancellation isn't an issue). Now I recommend them to close friends. I'm still mad at this junk cable, hence 4 stars. Buy a 3.5" cable (that fits this model!), not just an adapter. * End of update * Waiting forโ€ฆ

Melty Goodness In Ear Headphones

I had a pair of Sennheiser HD 558s and loved them, they were stronger in bass but I bought them refurbished and unfortunately they broke. I used my spare Samson SR850 for about 2 months and they were very bright and whistling in comparison but without THAT the difference between them is amazing and I listened to them for less than 30 minutes. They're a bit tight at first, like most new headphones, but they need to be broken in, huh. I've listened to indie pop/rock/folk, some RNB and hip hop and
