Far too complicated for a small microwave oven

Every microwave oven I have bought, used or experienced allows the user to punch in the number of seconds and press start to heat a cup of coffee. This one has you read the instruction book to find out how to do this basic operation that has become intuitive using most microwaves. That aside, its smallness is just right for a small space utility microwave. Therefore, I will read the book and find out how to get seconds rather than minutes when punching up the numbers.

Pros
  • The door latch is not user friendly.
Cons
  • The turntable can be difficult to clean in comparison to models with removable plates

Dead in under 2 years.

This microwave, purchased less than 2 years ago, is such a disappointment! Within a couple months of purchase the finish on the interior bottom began cracking and chipping away, and a discolored patch appeared on the interior microwave emitter panel that got bigger and bigger with time until eventually, last week, it emitted a small but fierce "lightening storm"---and died. I chose Sharp solely on its reputation, which seems to have been a mistake. I'm giving it 2 stars rather than 1 because in

Pros
  • Its pretty small but it is quite so I guess its good enough
Cons
  • The small size can cause a cluttered look of the countertop

Stopped working after 3 months

This microwave stopped working suddenly after 3 months. We don’t even use it that much. Lucky I got the warranty but bet it will take forever for a replacement

Pros
  • I like everything about it!
Cons
  • May require additional accessories to be purchased for cooking convenience

Good basic microwave

Good basic appliance for the price. Low powered and door a bit difficult at times, but functional, compact and affordable.

Pros
  • Perfect for the amount of counter space I have
Cons
  • The microwave's door can become loose over time, making it difficult to close or open

Great value for the $$$

The best thing about this microwave is that it takes a 10 11/16th inch dinner plate. Also the size. My counter space is limited and this is perfect.

Pros
  • GreatMicrowave! Our first ever! We are in our 70’s. Easy to use!
Cons
  • The time required to cook a meal is relatively long due to its low wattage

Not what they once were --

My first microwave -- a Sharp "Carousel" -- lasted twenty years. The second, which was observably of lesser quality, also a Sharp "Carousel," lasted nine years. Not only is this smaller than I expected, but also the quality is even less than that second. I worry it won't last for even nine years.Three stars because I generally like the product.

Pros
  • I like that it's compact and takes up minimal space, but the door opening and closing is too loud.
Cons
  • The rotating mechanism can malfunction, affecting the quality of generated heat

We love it! on my review.

Bought it for the compact size but love it for so much more! Works great and feels substantial, not flimsy. Very attractive and easy to clean

Pros
  • 12.8 x 17.3 x 10.2 inches
Cons
  • The microwave can be hard to clean properly due to its small size

Works great and saves space

Very happy with this powerful but space saving oven. We still have the Sharp carousel microwave we received as a wedding present nearly 37 years ago in operation in our office kitchen. Hopefully this little oven will last half as long!

Pros
  • Sharp Microwaves
Cons
  • With such low wattage, it can be tough to properly cook meats and ensure they're food-safe

Functional but has manufacture defect

The size and style of the microwave was what I expected. The product however has an exposed screw underneath which scratched my counter top. Sharp tried to resolve but sent over sized rubber covering. The second attempt resulted in sending me another Sharp microwave. Unfortunately, the 2nd microwave had same issue of exposed nail. I am trying to resolve by having them send me label so I can ship one back as I don't need two defective microwaves. Sharp has not been prompt to reply and resolve…

Pros
  • Perfect size for small spaces! Excellent build quality from Sharp!
Cons
  • Heating and cooking results can be inconsistent
