As expected. High quality.

I don't know why there are so few reviews on this, for me it was the perfect product. It was exactly as advertised, well made and worked great. I just wish the screw was a little longer, but that's not a problem with the product. Maybe there are some inconsistencies in production and I was lucky, but this product looked great and was well made.

For the price it's ok.

This item is ideal for printing on paper or binding books. Also suitable for veneer presses. However, the threads were cut in one or two passes, resulting in rough and uneven threading. To compensate, the jam nut is slightly larger so they don't fit tightly together. It will not withstand heavy repeated use. The two pieces can get crossed if you're not careful. At such a low price one cannot expect accuracy. For our paper art applications, this is ideal.

Threads quickly removed, now useless

Media failed to load. I used it to make a book press and it worked great for about a dozen uses, then the threads on the collar started to wear out as the screw part turned. Since then, the threads have completely worn out and torn off, so the clip no longer works. I don't know if I got a bad one or if it's just the quality of the clamps they sell, but it was a little sticky when new. This may be due to tapping cast iron instead of pressed steel.

Rubbish but GREAT customer service *Updated December 28, 2017*

*Update* I called ShopFox and explained my situation. They asked for some photos of the faulty parts. I sent them the requested information and about a week later they sent me a new press. I've already switched to a different screw line, so I'll probably build another press with this replacement line as a backup. Excellent service from ShopFox (Woodstock International). ---------------- I made a spread press with this product. The collar ripped after two months. I will see if I can find a…
