Bulletproof design, strong support and easy installation

I record live classical guitar in stereo with matched microphone pairs. For years I've settled for a K&M mic stand: easy to carry, but cumbersome and slow to set up. To make matters worse, the microphones shifted at the slightest impact. So I bought an expensive Shure A27M stereo microphone adapter. It took a bit to set up but once you do you have reliable

Adjusting the ORTF down for guitar/other portable instruments took some time with my limited stick stand but was still much better than with my old spacer bar. Construction. (I used the pole that came with my mics, which was pretty difficult to tighten and would come loose unless I actually squeezed it. I also had to use a spacer to lift a mic so I could position it properly. It worked, but I wouldn't want to move it at all after setting it up.) The design of this thing is like a tank and it's…

Amazing build quality

These things are solid metal, not tubing, and seem to last forever. Another reviewer rightly said that registration marks are missing, which looks like a real oversight, but isn't a problem for my workflow as I work by things rather than marks, but I fully understand the need for marks in certain circumstances. There are a couple of notches on the top handle that seem out of place for them to move when you tighten or loosen the handle. All this to say that they worked very well in my studio…
